The mining team leverages its knowledge of the mining laws of the Republic and its experience over the years to advise clients. The team has advised clients on mining rights applications, compliance, renewal of licences, prospecting, refinery, resolution of disputes, and securitization of gold royalties.

The team also advises mining companies on corporate governance, commercial agreements, finance agreements and due diligence works. Our team has contributed to the passage of some of the laws in the mining sector as key participants at workshops and seminars organised for such purpose.

Our clients include holders of large scale and medium scale mining concessions where they are mining precious metals such as gold, manganese and bauxite. Other clients carry out stone quarrying.

We have worked as counsel to international counsel advising the Government of the Republic of Ghana on the securitization of royalties from gold mining in Ghana where we provided key insights into the mining laws of Ghana and the impact of the intended transaction. The team also advised on the promulgation of the relevant laws and reviewed key agreements.
